Indoor Chipping Greens
At Pro Putt Systems we are always looking for new, innovative and useful designs and concepts that maybe we haven’t thought of in the past.
Recently we developed a line of indoor chipping greens that we know will improve your short game and drastically lower your golf scores.
Our two standard chipping greens are listed below but remember, if you would like to design your own shape and size, you can order a custom putting green with a built in chipping area.
The two indoor chipping green models are:
1) The Mini Tour Indoor Chipping and Putting Green (no longer available)
2) The Euro Tour Indoor Chipping and Putting Green (no longer available)
The Mini Tour Model (no longer available)
- Measures 13’ 4” in total length
- Measures 5’ 7” in total width
- Chipping area is approximately 23’”
- Leaving approximately 10’ plus for putting
The Euro Tour Model (no longer available)
- Measures 17’ 1” in total length
- Measures 5’ 7” in total width
- Chipping area is approximately 23’”
- Leaving approximately 15’ plus for putting
The 23” chipping area is made from high quality polypropylene fringe material that replicates the first cut of fringe or the “apron” around most putting greens.
The chipping area is approximately .75’ in depth which will allow you to practice little chip shots with comfort.
In the spirit of saving as much of the putting area as possible for actual putting a right handed golfer would have their right foot on the fringe and their left foot on the putting surface.
This does leave enough room for your chipping as proper technique would call for: weight forward, legs close together and hands forward, let’s have Michael Breed of the Golf Channel explain it for us!
Testing has shown that while the chipping area is limited, there is plenty of room in these designs for practicing these vital little shots.
IF you wish to add a little more chipping area to your putting green we can do that for you at no charge, simply list this request at check out under “special instructions”.
You heard Michael talk about “chip shots” and “pitch shots” so, what’s the difference between a chip shot and pitch shot?
A chip shot is a shorter shot that is designed to roll a further distance than it travels in the air.
A pitch shot is the inverse, it is in the air for a longer distance than it rolls once it lands.
Indoor Chipping Pads
As an alternative, we also offer a chipping pad available at check out. The chipping pads are completely portable and they offer plenty of room for virtually any type of chip, pitch or even flop shots you wish to practice.
Chipping pads are 48” long and 36″ wide, if you want to order a chipping pad by itself the cost is $139 and shipping is included in that price.
You can read more and a full description about our indoor chipping mats here.
As mentioned earlier, we are always seeking to improve our design and functionality, if you have an idea for a different design, feel free to share!
